88022 has been in use since 2016 as a means of communication between Trump and his supporters. It is called a SMS short code for Donald J. Trump for President. These short codes are also called "vanity codes" by the US Short Codes Directory. So, it is a means for the campaign to keep in contact with supporters.

As to why Mr. Parscale asks that "Text Trump to 88022" to a profile, it may be because of Twitter and Facebook's decision to no longer allow "microtargetting" of ads by the campaign--another form of internet censorship aimed at hurting our side, as we all knew they would. So by adding this to one's profile, it will give the campaign a way to identify supporters for ads, news alerts, and so forth.

Keep in mind, this is just my guess. Hopefully somebody else will come along and add some clarity. I end by saying that Parscale is unbelievably effective, so I'd pay close attention when he makes a request on behalf of the campaign.

But what does it mean? How does adding “Text TRUMP to 88022” to your profile show love? Is 88022 a phone number or something that people in the USA can text messages to?
