Agreed. Not all dictators are bad. Some could be benevolent. I think Singapore government used to be run by a good dictator who controlled the government for many decades.
There is a fine line between benevolent and malevolent dictators. I think many people in Germany in the 30's and 40's might have felt that Hitler was a benevolent dictator because he wanted Germany to rise and be prosperous after WWI. His actions toward this goal resulted in a total destruction of Europe and the mass killing of many innocent Jewish and gentile people alike. So a benevolent dictator is one who does what is best for his people but also one who respects the sovereignty of other nations.
