IN A NUTSHELL...

If Democrats were held to the same standard as Republicans, the following Senators would need to recuse themselves from the impeachment trial:

Chuck Schumer
Elizabeth Warren
Amy Klobuchar
Bernie Sanders
Michael Bennet
Cory Booker
Kamala Harris

And probably many more.
