I've never heard of this. It sounds like they made it up, which is unnerving, actually.

  1. Contempt of Congress. This is an act of Congress. It must be voted on by the full House. Contempt votes are usually held for people who refuse to testify or hand over evidence. The problem with this is that, once its done, its all over. It doesn't linger in the air for campaign purposes. Further, their swing district members will have to go on the record. And, lastly, it's reviewable in court. Trump would sue immediately, and regain his due process rights, probably embarrassing them in the process. No wonder they don't want to go this route.

  2. Obstruction of Justice. This is a federal crime. They couldn't even make the case that Trump obstructed the Mueller investigation, and lamented the fact that no one was buying their bogus obstruction charge.

The President is given the power under the Constitution to "obstruct" Congress. He has veto power over their bills, for Christ's sake. Hard to be anymore obstructive than that. And, the courts recognize "executive privilege". Some executive branch communications Congress does not have a legal claim on.

My guess is that they want their comrades in the MSM to drop the "Congress" part and just refer to the second article as "obstruction", to confuse people into thinking that they're talking about obstruction of justice, and hence Trump is being impeached for violating a federal law.

I find this unnerving. Ten or twenty years from now just about everyone will look back on this, and say, What the fuck is this? They made shit up.

The Democrats have shown no regard for how history will look at their behavior here. Why not? It's like their attitude is that the whole thing, the country, the Constitution, will burn to the ground anyway, so who cares what we do now? That's what I'm worried about.

By the way, the legal counsel for the Dems in the Judiciary Committee hearing, Eisen, is a Soros operative. Pelosi was originally opposed to impeachment. Maybe she was pushed into it by Soros and his crew? And, Soros doesn't give a fuck about history, because he plans on seeing the US to its destruction anyway?
