Yup, they don't even need the EU. Money talks and the UK is one of the largest economies in the EU. The EU will need their money, all the UK has to do is leave, and they get infinite leverage.

If the EU wants to get petty and artificially force the markets to penalize the UK by implementing restrictions, literally everyone else in the world would love to get in on trade deals with the UK.

Either way the EU loses. UK just has to leave.

The only complicated thing I see out of leaving is all the non UK citizens who legally moved to the UK and made a life there under the EU free movement laws. Although I'd say you could do something like, anyone who's lived there for 7-10 years, if they want to stay must immediately apply for citizenship within a expiring period, and have not ever left the county for longer than vacations. If they don't qualify, or don't apply within the citizenship window, they'll be granted a one time visa for 2-3 years to get their affairs in order and return home.
