This is infuriating for several reasons.
ONE - the government is in such a GD hurry to spend money it doesn't even have yet, I'd call them drunken sailors, but that isn't fair to drunken sailors. At least they only spend their own money.
TWO - they approved it during review. although, I'm pretty sure there's not a house in America worth 1 billion dollars, the government approved this. Do you think someone will be fired? No. Do you think someone will be held accountable? No.
THREE - these geniuses solution? Raise taxes! Brilliant! 🤬
Came here to say that this perfectly illustrates the differences between private business and government. SAD!
If I lived in Wasatch County, I would be outraged!
Reverting back to the 2019 budget should have at least been on the table. Why wasn't it? Probably because it is near impossible to fire anyone from a government job!
Psshhhh. We've got more money! Let's spend it so we can justify needing more next year! HURRY!!!
Why should people have to pay for a mistake that has already been found? Its one thing if it hasn’t been found, but now that it is - it is not the taxpayers who have to fix it.
Mass Appraisal programs should always have an automated "reality check" on value changes.
