I believe the original intent was to sling as much mud against President Trump as possible. So that any follow up action by the administration against the Obama/Clinton cabal would be viewed as retaliation and distraction.
Unfortunately the mud could not be found because President Trump does not have a long history as a corrupt politician. So now the plan is to distract from the Inspector General report due on Monday.
With the Senate refusing to prosecute the impeachment, the Democrats will exploit that during the campaign in a desperate attempt to at least hang on to what power they have.
Our job is to help old RINOs get on the Trump Train. And make sure the Democrats lose control of the house. We will not have impeachment peace until Nancy et. al. are humiliatied at the ballot box.

I think that's the rush. They need to be able to say GEOTUS can't appoint anyone to the SC while he's being impeached. It will bite them in the ass.

I have a feeling that RBG steps down early next year in order to energize Dem base. She is a god on the left; ensuring that seat doesn't go to a Consevative will be a huge rallying cry.
Her replacement will be the key to overturning Roe v. Wade,. The left is frantic.
