No deal is a great deal. China's economy is suffering (their growth numbers have been spoofed for ever) and not having a deal puts even more stress on them. Since the trade skirmish began, the US dollar has gained value and the Chinese Yuan has lost a lot of value. Industry and consumption are slowing and keeping up pressure is the only acceptable action. If China gets into a recession, their Military will lose a lot of funding, companies will fuck off and the people might even revolt.
So yeah, strangling China's economy is the only way forward. The next step should be to revoke all Chinese work and student visas to end the industrial espionage and intelligence gathering.
