private citizens should be allowed to solve the cartel problem

AslanFan (14 points)

My 2A says I can...and I'll do it!

Ask the Mexican Army how that worked out for them. We need to put the full power of the Department of Defense on this problem. Drone strikes and Seal Team insertions. Yesterday would not be too soon.

Carrier Task Forces inside the Gulf of California, that would be my Christmas wish this year. It would be so cool for all the liberal elites, to have their holiday beach parties, interrupted by Super Hornet F-18's going feet dry at the speed of heat, over their heads...off to hunt Cartel HQ's. It. Would. Be. Epic.

I'd finally have a reason to go to California if this happens.

I would be good with this. Drugs and illegals have been flooding across the Arizona border and Mexico my entire life. Trump is the first President to do anything about it. Stop it now or it will get worse as the cartels become more desperate. By any means needed.

They get identified as terror group I believe it's open season for Americans

Operation Mexican Shield. Use Arizona and New Mexico as the land force staging area, while fleet operations are flown along both sides of the Mexican shoreline. Just like we did when preparing to liberate Kuwait.

Good Ol' Sabre Rattling...we can do it for Iran and North Korea, but not Mexico? Their people have in modern times, killed more Americans than both of those other nation COMBINED. Many times over in fact.

Illegal Fentanyl shipments in the tons, not pounds, has proven them capable of delivering a genocide level weapon of mass destruction, making a direct threat to the safety and security of the United States and her people.

The Cartels control Mexico, not it's elected leaders. Proven, time and time again.

They are a clear and present danger to Our Republic. Time to send them a message, loud and clear, that their time of running roughshod in every state and every city, will soon be over.

Border entry should be merit based, I wholeheartedly agree!

There are no cartel in southern Mexico. Why? The people don't put up with their shit and kill them.

I know some good ole boys in Texas that would be more than happy to oblige.

OhLollyLollyPop (3 points)

Even a lot of Mexican-Americans would be on board with helping.

AslanFan (2 points)

Especially legal Mexican immigrants...one of the reasons they came here...to escape the lawlessness.

It doesn’t work that way. Yes you have low level “affiliates” of the various cartels involved in general crime against average citizens, but you would be surprised at who the actual cartel members in your community are. They aren’t that neck tatted dude with gold teeth at the 7-11. They are that “nice guy at church”, your sons volunteer soccer coach, a local business owner. They are people living seemingly very normal lives and often are quite involved in the communities they live. They are not looking to bring attention to themselves, and most violence in this country involving cartels is inter/intra cartel. This isn’t like playing a video game where the cartel members are all at their hideout and it’s just a matter of a band of citizens showing up and taking them out.
