Long ago I went and found an official Qatar website with the correct native pronunciation of the country's name, because I got sick of hearing wobbleheads suddenly trying to get all Arab-friendly calling it "Gutter." Like John Kerry calling ISIS "Daesh" to be more like the people in...ISIS.

Surprise! It isn't "Gutter" or even "Cutter."

The Qatari lady said it just as we've always said it: ka-TAR. Rhymes with guitar.

Wonder what else they're lying to us about?? : p)
