I remember when news articles actually had facts and weren’t 100% opinion pieces.

I agree. In my view, a news article should be a list of bullet points with substantiated facts. From there any opinions should be directly attributed to a specific person as a quote. The reader should be left to define their own narrative. Anything beyond this is an editorial.
