I remember being in 3rd grade music class when the principal announced JFK had been shot. All us kids went to see the movie PT 109 when it came out, he was a Hero to us. But growing up we all realized JFK had other history, and LBJ was a crook, and then Nixon, Carter...Redpilled us, most of us. It came as a shock to realize how corrupt our government was, and yet it has been so.

I remember sitting in my Mother's kitchen in about 1960, her Brother was visiting us and we were all talking, or they were. In those days kids sat and listened.

My Uncle was on the U.S.S.Reuben James in 1941, he had joined the Navy to get off the farm. He survived the war obviously, and he and my Mother were arguing. He explained to her that his Destroyer had been sunk before Pearl Harbor by a German sub while escorting convoys to Britain, and my Mother was becoming so angry she slapped him. I was startled, wasn't like her at all. She was insisting FDR would not have lied to the American people and he had said we were not involved in the War, yet. And we were not escorting ships to Britain, just halfway. And no Navy ships were sunk before pearl harbor.

Well later I discovered my Uncle was correct, but my Mother was never gonna believe it; Yellow Dog Democrat, my Mother would not believe reality if it fractured her political beliefs. JFK is like that too, people believe what they wish.
