I tried something similar over here and there yesterday. Over here I was trending on rising but didn’t get much more than 30 upvotes and a few comments. Over there I made it to the top with 8000 upvotes and a few hundred comments.
Not worried about that significant difference in performance as I think what it take to get something to the top is often just the luck of timing and interactions mixing in a perfect algorithmic stew. Plus we still only have a fraction of Reddit’s users.

It's also early in the game. All depends on if it gets picked up in new or not.
