These are able to be found as a comment mentioned by searching for "Allegheny Sample Ballot" HOWEVER, I've been looking at other sample ballots and there is always an indicator that it is a sample ballot. These are blank. Even with the border watermarks. I have no idea if they actually would pass a tabulator or not, they are just too "official" if they are Samples. If a connection can be made proving these are not viable if printed out on the right paper, then I'll delete this post.

https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/website/PDF_GEN/GEN%20(2).pdf

THIS WEBSITE REQUIRES LOGIN CREDENTIALS BUT DUCKDUCKGO BYPASSED IT ENTIRELY

Replace the (2) with (1) or anything and you'll get a NEW BALLOT

YOU CAN DO THIS FOR EVERY PRECINCT IN THE COUNTY

I also FOUND THE OFFICIAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PA STATE RETURN ENVELOPE.

ANOTHER FUNNY THING. https://www.dos.pa.gov/VotingElections/Documents/Envelope-Guide.pdf

Try going to the documents section. You need a FUCKING LOG IN AND PASSWORD

Search for this in DuckDuckGo to find it "allegheny county mail in ballot return envelope guide"

Pede u/poxonall in comments mentions that its a redirect from a "Polling Place and Sample ballot". However, I can't find the sub-directories to navigate to that. And again, apps.alleghenycounty requires credentials to log in. As well as there being sample ballots in other locations that outright say so.I'm going to keep looking around.

****** Update 332pm EST: I was able to find the subdirectories that led to this page. Poxonall made a good point, these are very convincing sample ballots. And other sample ballots have an indicator of them being so I'm not sure if these would pass the ES&S tabulators or not. ******

Other sample PA ballots are found everywhere. I don't live in PA and I was trying to find inconsistencies in photos of the counties that were anomalous. If anyone has a leftover Mail in ballot and can compare it to the "sample" ones listed here that would be very helpful. AGAIN. These are listed as sample, and if we prove they are, I'll delete this post. But I just can't find a similarity between these ballots and actual SAMPLE ballots.

u/hold10forthebigguy says as an Alleghany County resident this looks identical to the ballot that he voted on. Also. The published date for this PDF date is Nov 3, 2020 as far as I can find.

They have manuals for Dominion with "set no password" as the instruction, and they use one ssl certificate for a zillion sites ...

poxonall 41 points ago +41 / -0 (edited)

FYI: These are posted for intent of being used as sample ballots. You can navigate to them via here: https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/website/ElectPollPlace.aspx

A good follow-up question would be whether or not someone could print and scan one of these and whether or not it would be accepted. I would think logically sample ballots should be marked as such to avoid that, but maybe I'm crazy for thinking that.

12
jsg877 [S] 12 points ago +14 / -2

How do we get through to the apps.alleghencycounty site. You're not supposed to have permissions to that from what I can see. How did you navigate to that.

6
poxonall 6 points ago +6 / -0

searched "allegheny county ballots" and that got me to the page I linked.

4
ratioetlogicae 4 points ago +4 / -0

Search it in DuckDuckGo.

8
GravityBounce1976 8 points ago +9 / -1

Can they still be scanned into machines?

7
poxonall 7 points ago +7 / -0

Only someone with an appropriate scanner could confirm that.

5
FreedomOfTruth 5 points ago +5 / -0

When they fuck up the election so bad that it forces a manual recount like in Georgia it doesn’t matter as long as your standard poll worker can’t tell the difference.

5
jsg877 [S] 5 points ago +6 / -1

That's the thing we wouldn't know. Also if someone from Allegheny County could comment on this that would be very helpful. I have no idea.

This comment needs more visibility. A duckduckgo search for 'view sample ballot [state]" will return similar functionality.

7
poxonall 7 points ago +7 / -0

Search engines are all about the keywords. That's what keeps many SEO companies employed. :)

5
jsg877 [S] 5 points ago +6 / -1

Correct. However. https://ballotpedia.org/Pennsylvania_official_sample_ballots,_2020

Those are sample ballots as well. I've never seen a sample ballot as detailed as these. I genuinely tried to find an indicator of it being a sample. I'm confused as to how viable this would be or not. The fact that they have all of the outer border markings as well is very disconcerting.

5
poxonall 5 points ago +5 / -0

And that's why it seems logical to ask or determine if these could get through the process and accepted as a legitimate vote. If that can be yes in any circumstance, then the people of the county DESERVE an investigation to make sure their legal votes are separated from those that potentially are not. I'm not a resident of that county, but it seems a logical question to ask - especially with no watermarks to indicate it is only a sample ballot.

I find it hard to believe that someone would be that irresponsible, but then again I am constantly reminded that common sense is no longer so common.

0
DisgustedByMisleadia 0 points ago +2 / -2

In my state, I was able to download a sample ballot for my voting precinct by simply confirming my voter registration information.

But, it is very clearly watermarked (in pink) that it is a "Sample Muestra" (the second word is "Sample" in Spanish).

6
GruesomeNewsom 6 points ago +6 / -0

This needs to be top comment. I swear, sometimes people are a bit too much on this site. Calm down everyone, this is only a drill.

2
ElectorCorrector 2 points ago +2 / -0

I am pretty certain that they will scan successfully. One question I have is whether real ballots have any invisible markings (perhaps UV readable) which the scanner needs to pick up.

I have a stack of real ballots from a past election which I will test. I have just ordered a UV flashlight and will report back with my results when it comes in.

1
FeralDaigoro 1 point ago +1 / -0

If they were hand counting them they wouldn't care if they were real unless they were cast for Trump.

1
ElectorCorrector 1 point ago +1 / -0

Update: I checked my ballots with a blacklight and I did not see any "hidden" uv-readable information. So it appears that they are basically ordinary printings, meaning that I would expect anybody's real printout to scan successfully.

FYI, the reason why I have a stack of real ballots is is because I sell some low-tech voting equipment, and I was given these ballots (excess ballots from a past election) from a ballot printing company so I could use them in product photos.

9
msm-fraud2020 9 points ago +9 / -0

I dunno. Forced entry to a computer system is quite a bit different from 'walked in through the open front door, looked around, wrote down what I saw, left'

I'm no lawyer, but it doesn't even seem like there was a credible attempt to secure the information available, so what makes it different from literally typing into Google 'sample ballots [state]' and getting a result.

7
MakeAmericaLegendary 7 points ago +7 / -0

Considering these documents were publicly accessible via Google, I'm not super worried about the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. I'm more concerned about some kind of obscure law about possessing copies of state property or something.

Check in text editor for “ii” in Republican

2
acasper 2 points ago +2 / -0

Meaning that could be the “watermark”?

3
ClarenceBeeks 3 points ago +3 / -0

Dominion has settings to filter by specific text. Easy for a county to print ballots that look normal to the user but digitally read differently. The ii has been found elsewhere already but not proven to have been any factor in fraud

3
KleineSchlachtmusik 3 points ago +3 / -0

Meaning they could avoid counting GOP votes if the machine reads "ii" and it doesn't match a party name.

My city has sample ballots on their site as well, but usually they are watermarked as such.

Same here, but my state cares about secure elections.

Mine DOES NOT. I could vote hundreds of times if I wanted to in MN.

Jesus, this shit made my IT face cringe like I just bit into a ripe lemon. Not even the most basic of multiple requests security. Whoever programmed this and whoever authorized it need to be fuckin hung.

I am leaving it up to the rest of us to determine somehow whether these are actually "sample" ballots or not. I am lost at this point of how we can verify they ARE sample ballots. All indicators point to them not being samples. i don't know anymore.

How can we prove this if they shut it down? Simple me says record yourself downloading these and showing them, but there must be a formal and verifiable way to prove this existed if it gets shut down?

Isn't this the "hack" that a few people found and pointed out on 4Chan that led to Chris Wray's primetime press conference? He said something like ~30 states need to tighten there online presence up because these things are happening. He called out Iran, Russia, China, etc but also dog whistles directed at anons doing the work that found these flaws

I have no idea. I legit was trying to find an image of a sample Return envelope to look at images in news articles. To pinpoint Return envelopes that were not official. Yes, I think I did find some.

Question: why is this revelation significant? Can't people who got a ballot just photocopy it already or am I missing something that makes this even more of a problem than it already was?

Is that the same as this page where you can pull up any ballot in Allegheny County?

https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/website/ElectPollPlace.aspx

jsg877 [S] 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yes. That is the redirect to these pages. But I'm still trying to find a connection that makes these actual sample ballots. These look similar to what I voted on in Virginia if I'm being honest. That's why I was shocked by it.

Anything end up coming of this? Find out if legit for sure?

They look exactly like the real ballots. I see no “Sample” anywhere, unless it’s coded somewhere. Pretty strange we can download and print a legitimate ballot for any precinct.

Keep digging......

We are getting to the salt motherlode

Whole lot of pedes need to dig.

Look around in your hood. Snoop around.

Crowdsorcing the defense is a whole lot preferable to tree watering
