I just walk in like I own the place. The vast majority of the time, nobody says shit.

Same. The first few times my heart rate elevated. That was like... 4 or 5 months ago now.

Same. Costco has been my only issue.

I have shopped costco wo a mask. They can't do anything!

Lol, you might want to read that contract you signed.

They can't do anything!

They HAVEN'T DONE anything! FTFY

arkylady 8 points ago +8 / -0

I haven't worn a mask in 3-4 months. The main reason I did it at the start of this was because most of the places I shop I know the people who work there (small town) and I didn't want to put them on the spot or be confrontational about it with them.

I've not had anyone ask me to put on a mask anywhere except the clinic where my mom gets her chemo treatments and I gladly wear one there because it's filled with compromised people and it makes sense to do it.

TripleBlack 5 points ago +5 / -0

My wife gets harassed, everytime.

Me, 6'5" 270 pounds built like an Australian brick shithouse with a bad attitude, not a word.

trump_is_john_galt 35 points ago +35 / -0

Pro tip: If you open carry your M-60 machine gun nobody even notices you aren't wearing a mask. Toss a few smoke cannisters around to cover your movements and you can shop anywhere with no hassles.

15
Watermaker67 15 points ago +15 / -0

This guy gets it! Lol!

14
de9ebkmd7 14 points ago +14 / -0

I just wait for a black guy to charge the cops with a knife and get himself killed. Then I go looting for all my supplies. Unfortunately the last store I looted was a sex shop and I looted 127 dildos. Hit me up if you need one. Will trade for rice or beans.

Aye. Here in MI since the governor got her ass handed to her in the supreme court the establishments do not have to have a mask law. Now, that being said, the big box stores are making their own rules but i just dont go there. The mom and pop places dont give a shit about masks.

20
spec17 20 points ago +20 / -0

I had a lady told me it’s the LAW I told here it’s not and walked away. I typically just wear my gaiter under my nose. I had someone else tell to put it over my nose and I ignored them. If they want to assault me because I triggered them I’ll press charges.

13
Modern_Times 13 points ago +13 / -0

I've had no problem in the big box stores or supermarkets. The only places that refused to serve me without a mask surprisingly were a liquor store, a beer distributor, and a credit union. All small independent operations.

7
Pederrr 7 points ago +7 / -0

The smaller places are really worried about the fines and what not. My barber thinks the masks are bullshit but he's terrified of the fines. That's the only reason he requires them

3
deleted 3 points ago +3 / -0
2
suckmycorona 2 points ago +2 / -0

This. I'm in a Blue state and the mandate is state wide. Small business can't afford the fines as wrong as they are. Can't afford fine or legal fees to fight.

SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

and a credit union

After hassling me for the 3rd time... I asked the bank manager,

"Will you be exposed to me, not wearing a mask, LONGER if we close out ALL of my accounts, or less long if you just deposit this check I'm trying to deposit?"

Him: "We ask that you use the drive up"

Me: "That doesn't work for me"

I'll see what he says next time. Fucking Gov, extended MASKS AGAIN!

24
OhioRiverGator 24 points ago +24 / -0

I do. I always force them to tell me to put a mask on. Most don't say anything. If they do confront me, then I ask, "why should I wear a mask?" and I will debate them. If they refuse to accept me without a mask, then I tell them that they just lost my business & I leave, or a few times I have put my clown mask on. The clown mask really freaks them out and everyone else around laughs and tells me how great I am!

If we all wore funny halloween masks it would make the governors look like idiots and then the mandate would be over very quickly.

Yup. Behind enemy lines in CA. I've been tossed from my bank, the NEX, and a couple of grocery stores. Good times.

20
sportsbettingtruth [S] 20 points ago +20 / -0

When they kicked you out did they make a scene? I got kicked out of a Ralph's and all the NPCs basically cheered on the assistant manager who ejected me

19
KidDynomite 19 points ago +19 / -0

Kind of. It was more passive aggressive. Twice I have left a shopping cart with about $200 worth of food at the register after the clerk (who was masked up and behind Plexiglas) told me I had to wear a mask.

Kind of a bitch move on my part, but better than being arrested.

9
befehlistbefehl 9 points ago +9 / -0

being arrested

For shoplifting? Reason I ask is cause in California theft under $1000 (I'm 95% sure) is not even a felony, and the police often don't even bother responding to such crimes. Not from California though, so correct me if I'm wrong.

7
KidDynomite 7 points ago +7 / -0

Trespassing is what they've been jamming folks up with for not wearing masks. Argue too long about it and they stick you with resisting arrest as well.

Shoplifting under $950 is a misdemeanor and a court summons. Not a bad idea to just roll out with the cart, but even misdemeanors have to be reported under circumstances on an SF-86 or other job-related paperwork.

5
befehlistbefehl 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yeah, if your gonna just roll out with the cart you need to beat feet before the cops can show up, and find a new place to "shop" for a couple weeks. Preferably one that will let you pay for your items.

3
banumerchantmarine 3 points ago +3 / -0

Kind of a bitch move on my part

I disagree. They pushed it THEN and not when you walked in the door. Not your problem. As long as you were polite about it, anyway.

I abandoned a cart full of food too, when I was shopping at a local grocery store. Some lady who looked like a manager told me I had to wear a mask for everyone's safety. I just said, "OK, Thank you, have a nice weekend." and left.

I recognize the prerogative of any private business to require a mask like they require shoes and a shirt, but I won't give them my money.

21
TrumpsMyDad 21 points ago +21 / -0

If anyone says anything I say “No thank you.” If they push it, I say “No it’s fine, I know this 74 year old guy who got it and he’s fine!”

12
Conservativechick 12 points ago +12 / -0

All the time. Give the death stare and act like you own it. Only had one fat little bastard "sir sir, sir you have to wear a mask".

My response: "If you can get it on me, ill wear it".

His response: looks down and continues mopping the floor as I cruise on in.

Most places that "require" masks don't require masks. They just have signs up as CYA so the local government busybodies will leave them alone.

My local grocery store has peeled off the ONE WAY and STAND HERE stickers from the floor. The checkout girls still wear masks, but they have them down below their noses. Nobody has commented on my beautiful bare face. The truth is that everybody knows this is bullshit, but we all have to pretend like it's important.

16
Watermaker67 16 points ago +16 / -0

Yupyup! Grocery stores, Post Office yesterday, restaurants, wherever. I used to say, “Well, I’ll respect the business if it’s their policy”, but screw that. I respect a business by spending my MONEY there. They have no right to mandate medical equipment for my face!

5
Northwest41 5 points ago +5 / -0

This.

1
SkeletorsTeeth 1 point ago +2 / -1

9
bonejack 9 points ago +9 / -0

I'm keeping a list of the ones that don't allow me in. I will never be back.

11
Baryonic 11 points ago +11 / -0

I don't wear a mask unless they demand I leave if I don't wear one. If they accost me I explain to them the size differences between the aerosols that might contain shedding virions and the relative size of the fibers of their face diapers. You cannot stop a gnat with a chain link fence.

11
EPic 11 points ago +11 / -0

I get a lot more stuff delivered now but one store around me I go to has a sign up on the door but doesn't really care. Most of the time I walk in the girl at the counter is wearing her mask as a chin warmer.

I think most businesses and people just do it to avoid fines / getting hassled.

If they asked people to walk around with a butt plug because they thought farts spread covid, you know the same idiots who are wearing masks now would be walking funny tomorrow.

11
kudupoo 11 points ago +11 / -0

Since day one. If they insist, I tell them I will take my money elsewhere if they'd like. About 80% of the time, they allow entry. The ones that don't, I leave. However, on my way out, I politely let them know that I'll spread the word to all my friends that IMO, they are Marxist, Communists and do not support the US Constitution.

11
ansettl 11 points ago +11 / -0

Have since the beginning. I'm in southern Illinois. Only ever got kicked out of a gas station. Had plenty of door greeters ask if I had a mask but when I say no they just say ok or drop it completely. Pretty sure they don't care and are just there bc they are told to. In the middle of summer it got to be about 50% didn't wear a mask here but lately I've noticed more ppl wearing them. The state has kind of gone back and forth on restrictions so I'm guessing that's why.

There's a Menards about an hour away but I haven't been there. Hopefully that is a manager thing and not a company wide thing.

Hopefully that is a manager thing and not a company wide thing.

Nope. Very much company-wide.

You know how (weirdly) same-type stores will build within eyeball distance of their competition? Home Depot here has basically DRAINED the Menards parking lot. Both used to be equally full (last year).

8

I do it all the time. I've gotten one offer of a mask for store personnel to which I replied "no thanks." The only comments I have gotten from other people are "I like your hat!"

7
Pederrr 7 points ago +7 / -0

I keep it in my pocket. If I'm forced, I wear it but keep it pulled down. More and more I'm not being asked to wear it.

If enough of us just stop wearing the masks it'll go away.

6
derpstater 6 points ago +6 / -0

Nobody will bother you. Man up

6
Haitianbychoice360 6 points ago +6 / -0

All the time. I rarely am challenged.

I had to wear a mask twice though. Once when I had to go into a hospital. As soon as I walked past the Nazi gatekeeper I took it off. Another at the DMV. Wore it less than five minutes there as I knew I wouldn't get service. I ignore all mask signs and make them try to enforce it. The few times I obliged it was after I was given one. I never have one on my possession. The bigger the sign the more I ignore it. I have gotten thrown out of one store and will not go back. (The owner wasn't rude at all just seemed overly fearful. Ended up being a good thing as I ended up finding a better deal online. )

I was asked twice at the local Walmart. I told the one employee that I didn't have one and kept walking. The second time the more serious looking security guard asked and I plead medical exemption. Most "enforcers" look at me and look the other way. There was one time that some chick behind the cake counter asked why I didn't have one. I guess she has very little opportunities to exert some power and influence in her life. I just stared her down and silently dared her to make it an issue. Thankfully she backed down.

It is getting better though. There were several times when I was the ONLY ONE in the store without one. Now thankfully it's gone up to about 30 percent.

5
9erLifer 5 points ago +5 / -0

Sadly, where i live, I am almost always the only one not wearing a mask.

6
badabaca 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah sometimes. Had this kid at the gas station register say, “sir, can you wear a mask the next time you come here?” I looked at him like the confused idiot he is and just said ,”nah,” grabbed my shit and left. Never purchasing anything there again.

6
Northwest41 6 points ago +6 / -0

Grainger is the only place I’ve been to that refused to service me for refusing to wear a mask.

No problem at Shogun Sushi, No problem at HEB no problem at Lowes no problem at my dentist got some pushback from the funeral home (I just kept going ignoring them). No pushback whatsoever today when I went to go early vote— despite the sign on the door saying “you must have a mask to enter the establishment” no one said a goddamn thing to me.

Keep it up gentlemen.

6

I don't wear a mask in MI but I only go to the grocery store. I hate the thought of going to other stores and having to deal with the mask police so I rarely go to other stores or restaurants. Nobody bothers me about not wearing a mask.

6
RBGs_Tumor 6 points ago +6 / -0

I wear one at work because my kids enjoy eating and a roof over their heads. But I haven't worn one out and about in over a month. The only place that has said anything with Ace Hardware and I just responded no thank you.

5
befehlistbefehl 5 points ago +5 / -0

Always have been.

5
DonJr2032 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, but if they ask me to I just leave. Gas stations have the sign up and I go in them all the time.
I haven't been in wal-mart since they mandated masks nationwide.
I really only go in a few stores, once that I've identified as not caring about me wearing a masks, and I'll likely only go in those stores for the rest of my time here. Fuck these other places that force you to wear one.

Policy is not law. Businesses can set a policy, and if you don't follow it, they can ask you to leave, and have you charged with trespassing if you refuse (in most states). But just because they come up with some policy doesn't make it a law. "Mask required for entry" is the new rainbow flag, black square, woke virtue signal calculation by businesses thinking they will lose more customers by NOT having that sign up than the other way around.

It's up to us to prove to them that they will, in fact, lose more customers by requiring masks. This is a difficult metric to measure in states that still have strict restrictions on being out in public/store openings/etc. I think most states are in a holding pattern until a vaccine is available, at which point they will start to lift all these crazy capacity restrictions on businesses. Until then, I will continue to be the only guy in Kroger or Home Depot walking around without a mask and smiling at everyone I make eye contact with.

1
SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Mask required for entry" is the new rainbow flag, black square, woke virtue signal calculation by businesses thinking they will lose more customers by NOT having that sign up than the other way around.

No, it's the LEGALLY REQUIRED CYA of being caught between idiot local govt, and litigious customers.

4
ArvGarv 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes I do! In FL, have only worn one 6 time, doctors visits and to vote. Sometimes I carry one dangling from my cell phone hand looking like I'm ready to put it on but have never been asked. All ready to say I have a medical condition but hepa prevents me from telling you what that is. Today went to home depot, Walmart and grocery store, the regulars are used to seeing me without it. Have had some Karens freak out on me though, I just ignore them.

1
SirPokeSmottington 1 point ago +1 / -0

All ready to say I have a medical condition but hepa prevents me from telling you what that is.

Please don't ever say that. They will look at you, like you're an idiot.

It is ADA, not HIPAA, not HEPA, not anything else.

ADA also doesn't PREVENT you from saying it, it FREES you from having to share personal, private, and sometimes embarrassing information.

Here in British Columbia, they cannot force you to wear a mask. They can only suggest that you wear one. However some of the smaller mom and pop stores didn't get the message and will chase you out if you try to enter.
Fuck masks

3

I have not worn a mask anywhere. I will not do it.

3
FudgyFudgeBots 3 points ago +3 / -0

I wear a mask for doctor visits, otherwise I cant get in. If I have to go to walmart, I wear a grim reaper halloween mask with my tshirt that says "der fuhrer Kay Ivey, mask nazi" . Otherwise I do not wear a mask.

2
Northwest41 2 points ago +2 / -0

If you get an opportunity try and push back on them. Not sure your situation—- with doctors, definitely don’t like appointments that cancel. And then tell them to go shove their cancellation fee up their ass you’re never coming back LOL

Had no problem at dentist getting my crown replaced without a mask.

Other than that no one says a word.

1

If it's a store policy, no. That makes you an asshole.

If it is an illegal state/county/city mandate that isn't enforceable, then yes. Always.

3

States are fining the businesses.

1
IForgotMyPw 1 point ago +2 / -1

Are they really, though? Or is that just what you read on the news and now you're repeating it?

How many of those fines have been taken to court and upheld?

What are the statistics on this?

3
suckmycorona 3 points ago +3 / -0

This is fact depending upon state. I can only reference one and I’m in a city controlled state but in a very rural area. The one local business had an administrative assistance to the governor show up and complained. Karen if you will.
