Love you Ted and I can't wait to vote for you in 2024. But we all know you aren't going to do shit about it. And neither will the rest of the GOP. Giant Old Pussies.

Trumpers need a new party. Republicans are free to join but they leave all their RINO bullshit can’t do maybe bullshit at the fucking DOOR

None are brave enough, or if they are competent enough, or if they are both, have the money and backing.

True MAGA pushers require massive amounts of balls, ability, and will power.

It's pretty funny seeing the disconnect between the 2 sides. I've seen dozens of libtards claim their senators don't fight hard enough "like the GOP"

Well the farther you go left or right the more you lose sights of the center where things normally take place. They’re crying about the Supreme Court, but it was Ruth babybutcher Ginsberg who refused to resign when seriously ill and old during Obama’s presidency. Plus these far lefties know next to nothing about how Supreme Court appointments often surprise/disappoint those who named them to the court. It’s supposed to be an independent body with lifetime appointments so they uphold the Constitution and rights— but they are people and some crave approval and popularity or think that by betraying the Constitution they preserve the Court.

I’m closer to an absolutist on rights so I was very disappointed that Trump went along with a ban on “bump stocks” following the mass murder in Las Vegas. We don’t usually deprive every citizen of something because of the one crime. Did anyone even get Netflix to pull 13 Reasons Why after the show was clearly linked to teen suicides? The most vile pornography is protected as speech, when obscenity was never considered speech (written, spoken, communication).

This is the guy running for State Treasurer for Oregon, from the Constitution Party: https://i.maga.host/jTqa6LW.png

MAGA AF and I enjoyed his submission statement but I voted strategically, unfortunately, for the Republican contender to help sway votes for him.

In an alternate timeline and hopefully as part of the next 4 years of Trump, we can actually get these kind of candidates in the door.

22
No_Malarkey_Joe 22 points ago +24 / -2

Trying to spin off a new party isn't going to work out that well. In actuality, they're going to draw votes from the same base and spoil each other. Teddy Roosevelt tried that with the Bull-Moose Party and it split the progressive vote. We're better off changing the next generation of the GOP from the bottom up, getting more Laura Loomers and Sean Parnells in the primaries.

10
Rekot24 10 points ago +11 / -1

We also have to get involved and join the Republican party. Get involved, take that shit over.

5
Losersloseagain2020 5 points ago +5 / -0

there is no need to form a new party. Trump has essentially taken over. No candidate is more popular. If they go after trump they lose.

3
gromenawer 3 points ago +3 / -0

This. The bipartite system is the optimal mathematical solution given the rules by which the elections are run. There is no way around it if you don't change the entire voting system first.

Primary these clowns like we didn't do the last 4 years. Waiting for the RNC(DNC) to serve up some great candidate on a silver platter is asinine. No swamp draining will occur until Congress is remade. 85%+ need to be removed and replaced.

7
OJ_Epstein 7 points ago +9 / -2

And 8-year term limits on Senators.

Can we think of one senior US Senator who isn’t balls deep in the swamp yet?

3
MuadDon 3 points ago +4 / -1

Only one I could possibly trust to not be swamp is Paul, and he's a junior.

4
tchouk 4 points ago +4 / -0

No, it's not that.

Representatives were originally conceived to represent the people. This was achieved by having a rep for every 30k or so people. With the current population, that's like 10,000 representatives.

That is what we need. Actual people like us. Some Joe Blow you know and can punch in the nose if need be.

What we have instead is this abhorrent, elite political class of the select few that represent only their own interests. Replacing all of them won't change this fact and thus will always result in the same situation.

11
TedCruzAteABoogaloo 11 points ago +12 / -1

Take a look at what gets posted here on this website. Then take a look at the amount of support each post gets.

People are honest with how they feel on here and other people agree. LOTS of other people agree.

So why wouldn't that be true if we all became politically active? Take these posts and turn them into speeches on a campaign for your local school board, council position, or congressional race.

We need patriots to start flooding local races not just with their votes, but with their candidacy. If we can't trust our representatives then we should just run the government ourselves.

1
MouthAgapeForBLMJizz 1 point ago +1 / -0

What types of local races specifically? Genuinely curious.

Can average joe schmos run for anything? Obviously they’d have to be intelligent etc but the need to have been super into political circles isn’t a must? Or not having a ton of political contacts etc?

Republicans have been compromising for decades..they are the reason we are in this mess.

Democrats have been far more active and succeeded in pushing their agenda on the rest. They are winning the culture war.

Trump is the only one they didn't plan and who beat them. That's why they hate him. Meanwhile they don't care about the rest of the Republicans because they know they are no threat

The eye swung to a tube on the wall, a quarter full of gray powder.

The mouth gave a cry of wonder. "The energy has nearly dissipated! How long have I slept? With a half-life of 1,200 years---over five thousand years!

"Who are you then? Where are my bickering subjects, the adherents of Clown World? Did they kill themselves then, so long ago?"

"No. They are still honking in the streets."

"Five thousand years! Five thousand years and the wretches still honk? Time has taught them no wisdom? Then stronger agencies must be used. Ronald__Dregan will show them wisdom. Behold!"

Congress can’t arrest people. Thank God.

The people you need to be mad at are the attorney general and the justice department. Or possibly the DA on whatever jurisdiction oversees Twitter.

21
CantThinkOfUserName 21 points ago +21 / -0

Get pissed at Congress for not addressing the laws, but the last thing you would ever want is granting Congress the ability to arrest people.

7
MuadDon 7 points ago +7 / -0

Do you know who approves and votes to appoint the AG?

4
ThirteenPercenter 4 points ago +4 / -0

I do!

My guess is our current AG won’t have the job much longer. And the new appointee will be chosen in the usual politicalized process. And that will depend heavily on who’s in office after the election next week.

2
aaafirefly123 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think Trump should give Congress the middle finger and appoint whoever he wants and not wait for a confirmation for him to start.

5
FireannDireach 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yep.

Congress (both houses) can refer criminal indictments to the AG.

Jurisdiction over Twitter is the FCC, as that power is given to them by the Congress. They can also refer criminal indictments to the DOJ.

This all goes through Barr. All of it.

3
fasterth 3 points ago +3 / -0

Can SCOTUS do anything?

7
DisgustedByMisleadia 7 points ago +7 / -0

For the federal courts to get involved, an actual case must be brought before them by a plaintiff, with an actual injury that the Court can remedy.

They don't get involved with hypotheticals.

1
ThirteenPercenter 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don’t think so, and an internet search seems to agree that SCOTUS cannot issue a bench warrant or petition for an individual to be arrested.

But I’m no expert. My guess is Jack would have to be tried in a normal court, then tried again in an appeal in court, before SCOTUS would even consider hearing the case.

I won't vote for Ted in 2024 or ever.

Why do Cruz people still think he is worthy of being president even though he does nothing but talk? Like Pence is trash or something compared to cruz.

Cruz has a podcast now, which is perfect for him, talk, talk, talk. I've lost my patience with these spineless cucks. Cruz loves the attention but does nothing.

So sick of GOP congress and so sick of the DOJ. Trump is all alone.

37

4
MuadDon 4 points ago +7 / -3

The reason we're in this position is because people do want a king - they don't want to have to do shit themselves. It's just too much work to find worthy candidates to primary obvious govt goons, or, god forbid, run for office yourself. "Muh work muh family, can't Romney's niece just serve me a perfect candidate already????????" This is why the left is in almost complete control right now - they put the work in at all levels of govt for decades.

6
FUCK_DemonRATS 6 points ago +6 / -0

Part of the problem is Big Tech has ALL politicians in their pockets (Dems and Rep's). They'll cut all Republicans a check for $50K for their campaigns, and give Democrats $1M each. So both parties put on a big show on TV just like Hollywood. Paid actors by Big Tech. The only one who gives a shit is Donald Trump

4
Italians_Invented_2A 4 points ago +5 / -1

Oh yes, I'm sure Ted could pick up the phone and some black shirts will show up at Twitter's headquarters to break some skulls.

He's a fucking senator.

Contrary to what Hollywood might have led you to believe, a senator can only talk and vote for stuff.

0
Ih8leftists 0 points ago +1 / -1

What EXACTLY would you like him to do in this specific case?

13
jornado87 13 points ago +13 / -0

He's up for Senate reelection in 2024, fren. I know a lot of people here talk about him running for Potus but Cruz has an election in 2024 regardless or which office it is for.

8
TakingCoatsWIN 8 points ago +11 / -3 (edited)

Yeah but the people mentioning it mean for president, which is laughable.

The election is in less than a week and while all these senators like Cruz, trying to score digital points "owning" these CEOs on TV, these CEOs are going full throttle censoring everything while they laugh in the faces of these Senators, and then people here posting tweets like the Senators are killing them while they're the ones actually killing us...

6
jornado87 6 points ago +8 / -2

Definitely agree there. Cruz isnt the guy.

4
FUCK_DemonRATS 4 points ago +6 / -2

100% correct. It's all a Hollywood show. Big Tech has testified and lied under oath before congress MULTIPLE times in the past. Nothing gets done. Which is why they will continue their censorship with impunity and it will only get worse. Just like the BLM riots, when criminals see there are no consequence for their actions, they will continue committing crimes and become more and more emboldened. I'm sure the next step will be to permanently terminate all GOP accounts. Why the fuck not right? They are a private platform with impunity to do as they please. Congress has made that pretty clear by now

3
Ink_Raven 3 points ago +4 / -1

He's another Trey Gowdy except he doesnt get a new haircut every other week

6
TheMadManDidItAgain 6 points ago +7 / -1

He's a legislator.... he is not in the executive branch. He can propose laws. He can question people. He can't actually do much about it though.

Don't hate on Cruz because he doesn't have the ability to arrest people or anything like that. That falls in the hands of the DOJ (I think the DOJ) who have the power. Cruz is doing what he can, exposing these people and providing the DOJ with evidence to do something.

1
TakingCoatsWIN 1 point ago +3 / -2

A week before the election they want to act like they are doing something about Big Tech even though Big Tech just laughs and lies in their faces without a care in the world while going full throttle with their censorship of us. And people here licking balls over absolutely nothing. I don't see how that's "hating on Cruz".

2
no_step_on_snek 2 points ago +2 / -0

An antitrust lawsuit has been filed against Google in federal court by the justice department. Things happen slow but they're happening.

2

So many puppies here pretending the Republicans took the white house in 2016. We took the Republican party from them. They all voted for Cruz against us in the primary and now want to come in here acting like they're going to school us.

Party liners take heed: if you think you own this movement we are going to take your party from you again. And next time we won't let you save face. Be gracious.

2
xzars_folly 2 points ago +6 / -4

To be fair, he is a senator. About all they can do is vote on things and talk. They don't write bills, that is the house. They don't do any of the executive functions, they don't even start impeachments, just vote on them.

And to his credit he did vote to confirm ACB and voted to acquit Trump.

3
TakingCoatsWIN 3 points ago +7 / -4

WOW... Cruz needs to be credited with voting to confirm ACB and acquitting Trump?

Per the Constitution, there are only some bills that must originate in the House:

All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Cruz is a chameleon, he might be on our side for now but he only acts that way because it is politically useful for him. He had the smarts to see the swamp was going to be drained so leaped out of it.

No more of the same old tired career politicians in 2024, you'll get America right back into the same old mess Trump is trying to extract us from.

This tweet is a prime example, all talk and no action at all.

4
TheMadManDidItAgain 4 points ago +4 / -0

Let me challenge you for a moment. What action should Cruz take?

5
mintscape 5 points ago +6 / -1

Refer Dorsey for prosecution would be a start but no, he would rather just tweet.

That Tweet should read:

"I have just referred @Jack to @DOJ for prosecution under 18 USC 1621 for perjury".

Not hard, then it is up to the federal prosecutors and at least Cruz took action rather than another fucking useless tweet.

1
TheMadManDidItAgain 1 point ago +3 / -2

Ok, fair.

I would say that is essentially what he did above. I personally don't feel the above tweet is useless. But I understand your point. It would be more if he specifically said he is pushing for prosecution. This, however, might be something he did do that he cannot actually come out and say he did. There's a lot more going on that we just don't know about...

He can fire and purge the DOJ after his re-election, to do so now would have the Democrats proclaiming him a tyrant and they would have visible “proof” to back it up.

Trump needs the political capital that comes with a re-election in order to do this.

2
FUCK_DemonRATS 2 points ago +3 / -1

All they did was put on another Hollywood show. This is not the first time that Big Tech has lied under oath before congress. Big Tech has testified and lied MULTIPLE times before congress. NOTHING has been or will be done. Section 230 should have been revoked for Twitter and Facebook AGES ago. If you can't sue these platforms, they will continue to act with impunity to the point where they will just outright terminate every GOP account if they feel like it. The only solution is unfortunately to destroy these companies by revoking their section 230 and letting the lawsuits flood in.

1
deleted 1 point ago +2 / -1
1
FUCK_DemonRATS 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think the best solution is to revoke section 230 from specifically Twitter and Facebook. Once this happens they are liable to being sued and won't be able to continue operating since there is no possible way they can monitor every single thing people post. This will cause them to go out of business and a new platform can take it's place. Whatever platform takes it's place must follow free speech guidelines or risk having their section 230 revoked as well. If you want to operate as a platform, you must protect free speech and not allow censorship. If you cannot be neutral and start censoring and making editorial decisions, you are no longer a platform, you're a publisher.

DisgustedByMisleadia 5 points ago +5 / -0

A Senator cannot make that charge. What he can do: refer it to the DoJ.

I expect Cruz will do so.

3
xcvi 3 points ago +3 / -0

Cruz is doing more than the right thing. He can't lock up Jack Dorsey in cuffs because all Jack has to say is "muh employee didn't listen to me". You also can't lock up the "employee" either because all they did was fail to follow the hypothetical instructions. This is especially true because Jack likes to act like he's not involved in the details at Twitter. All Cruz can do is build a stronger case with documented instances.

4
SomeGuyOnTheInternet 4 points ago +4 / -0

He is in the legislative branch of government, what does he have the power to do?

1
_Eric_Ciaramella_ 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well the Judicial Branch writes laws like the Legislative Branch. So the Legislative Branch can go outside its purview and act as Executive Branch.

Or you know, joking aside, indict them on perjury charges and officially get the processed started. A tweet does nothing

I for one am glad Senators can’t arrest people

Their job is to write laws, they also (as seen here) can do investigations and can subpoena people this compelling them to come forward and give testimony

Yup do-nothing Barr, who also wrote sternly worded letters and keeps saying "justice takes time" and made sure no arrests happened before the election, which is when they really, really, really mattered.

Now we are rolling into a highly rigged election with extremely corrupt voting boards across the nation.

Right!?! I'm angry tweeting about the guy that runs Twitter about tweets he won't allow us to tweet.

Where can the problem be?

0
OranjeBlanjeBlou 0 points ago +1 / -1

Right. That’s an arena where he has power and Cruz doesn’t. The power of the federal government is an arena where Cruz has the power— until he uses that, he hasn’t decided this is anything more than a publicity stunt

15
xzars_folly 15 points ago +15 / -0

He can't arrest anybody, ever, its against the law for him to order such.

The US-District Attorney has to do the arresting. The Senate Judiciary at best can find evidence for a executive-branch arrest and prosecution.

Which that puts us back with do-nothing Barr who has turned out to be the biggest dud of the last year.

3
UpTrump 3 points ago +3 / -0

Fire Barr

Out DA's are a massive vulnerability. So many have been bought out and just wont do their jobs, and it just grinds out justice system to a halt.

1
aaafirefly123 1 point ago +1 / -0

The problem is the RINO-Democrat Alliance won’t allow any Pro-MAGA, Anti-Swamp person to be appointed to the DOJ.

I think Trump should give Congress the middle finger and appoint Rudy without Congressional Confirmation. And he should do it immediately after his re-election on November 4th that way he has a mandate congress can not deny.

4

21
STEVE_HUFFMANS_BULL 21 points ago +21 / -0

Simple fix: to keep Section 230 protections, a platform must

  • when removing or otherwise preventing interaction with content, provide the specific section of TOS and/or US Code the offending content violated

  • maintain an auditable log of such actions taken

  • make all TOS public, and changes are announced well in advance

  • enforce TOS in a completely impartial manner

  • use verification indicators (blue checkmarks etc) exclusively for verifying that the entity the account claims to be is who actually owns it

  • if an “algorithm” is found to have violated the above, it must be fixed or disabled

16
UnoriginalNickname 16 points ago +16 / -0

And penalties. There’s no practical way to penalize these entities right now.

6
AngryWriter 6 points ago +6 / -0

Content can't be removed unless it violates law.

When content is removed, the poster must be notified and the local or federal agency with jurisdiction is also notified.

If users can show content is removed that doesn't violate law, big penalties. 10% of penalty is given as a bounty to the person reporting the violation, so policing this is incentivized.

Now, what about trolls, disruption, etc? You can still terminate or close accounts. You just can't censor all their content. Troll comes in and spams some offtopic crap, you remove the troll, but the spam remains. That is life.

This is where capitalism comes in. Nothing is requiring social media to offer free accounts, and there are solutions to the above problems that involve registration controls, or fees.

This might kill "free" social media where the users are the product. I'm okay with that result.

ALSO:

A media site can choose to be a publisher. Nothing wrong with that, and then the can censor anything and everything they want. Drawback: they are responsible for all content on the site, and can face legal repercussions for illegal content.

4
STEVE_HUFFMANS_BULL 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don’t know if you fully understand what’s at play here. Section 230 is what allows TD.win to have rules like “Trump supporters only, no exceptions.” It’s not illegal to not support Trump, so with your proposal we couldn’t make that rule without becoming a publisher. That’s why a clearly defined and universally enforced TOS is vital to any platform, even if it removes content that isn’t strictly violating any law

I like the idea of bounty hunting violations, but I’d go a step further: I’d have the penalties paid by the highest ranking person we can prove allowed the violation

3
AngryWriter 3 points ago +3 / -0

TD.win would operate within the rules I outlined just fine.

Shills would get downvoted and banned. Nothing needs to be censored, except illegal content.

I understand it's a change from just being able to remove all content outright, but it's the only fair way I could think of that works.

"a clearly defined and universally enforced TOS is vital to any platform"

It's very easy to obfuscate and confuse the TOS such that you can pretty much ban whatever you want under shady justifications.

"As you can see, our TOS bans hate speach, and any support of Trump is clearly driven by hate so it's within scope to ban"

It's also incredibly easy to write the TOS so that virtually everything could be seen as violating it, and just selectively enforce it.

That is why I think the way I outlined things is how it would have to be.

1
DeplorableCentipede 1 point ago +1 / -0

TOS: We can remove any and all content at our discretion.

1
CTGunner82 1 point ago +1 / -0

That is worthless if they interpret their own TOS and are not liable for what the AI does.

Either they are platforms and can not censor anything unless hit with a court order, or they are publishers and they are held liable for everything everyone posts and you hit them with punitive damages.

No legislative changes necessary, they will just stop censoring, and we don't need to have fedGov take over the tech industry with "regulations" that are really just communist takeovers federalizing private industries.

1
VinnyMAGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

To your last point if they find an algorithm caused something, than they should fire or fine whoever 'accidentally' wrote that algorithm.

Otherwise they'll just blame everything on algorithms.

4
jgardner 4 points ago +5 / -1

Government is meant to be the gang that trumps all other gangs. When you are being picked on by a gang you can't handle between you and your neighbors, you call up the government.

When it comes to an infringement of rights, government doesn't exist just to not infringe on rights. A government that did nothing would infringe on no ones rights, after all. It exists to take positive action to PREVENT others from doing so! That's the point!

We WANT the government to beat up guys who infringe on our rights!

If they are foreign governments, NUKE EM!

If they are domestic governments. DESTROY THEM!

If they are private corporations, SEIZE THEM!

If it is a private citizen, LOCK HIM UP!

I agree with what you are saying, but it doesn't matter if you kill these people, by nature others will replace them and do exactly what they do as long as the system is structured to allow people to have as much wealth as nations while having ZERO ties that bind them legally to the State.

The massive irony is this is exactly why titles of nobility existed. It was a way for a King, aka a Head of State, to leash is Court, aka the richest bastards of the land who at every turn tried to undermine the king to get richer. See the ToN wasn't about faffery and exclusive privileged, it was so if the Noble was accused of treason the king could in one hand wave seize every asset said person possessed, and strip them powerless to do things like use their money to raise rebellions for political protection (hello BLM) or to bribe/subvert the courts to resist the course of Justice. They were granted by the Head of State, and revoked by the Head of State. And they were tittles that were essential for becoming what basically amounted to regional governors and their cheif officers, who owned THE major factor of production in the pre-industrial era (what do you think land was in a farm-based economy?)

The thing that breaks the modern system is you are basically asking relative paupers to control, and execute justice against what are basically pseudo-nobility who have the personal power of nations by owning holdings in the dozens of billions, vs a politician who is a millionaire at best and relies of an easily corrupted vote, where its scientifically proven the guy with the most donation money wins 98% of the time, to keep his job.

Even in the days before democracy, Kings would have to rely on the "employee" Ministers take down somebody who was basically...the "mini king" of one of the major regions of his nation. This is why the title is so important, because that which is given to grant power, can be taken away when accused of treason.
