We've released an update a short time ago to address a few key issues and concerns.

  • fixed replying to private messages
  • fixed a performance issue that was making the site almost as slow as Reddit.
  • started the process of removing Google resources (namely, jQuery)
  • fixed search results
  • added "previous" pagination button
  • ... and countless other, small changes.

The main point of this thread, however, is suggestions and bug reports.

We've been internally collecting a list and are working through them based on what is most important.

This is our public Trello board where you can see the bugs and features that are being worked on.

Use this thread to note any other bug reports and suggestions that you have.

You can also continue reporting bugs in Discord and elsewhere on the site.

I am blown away at the Quality and speed of this site.

Mobile Optimization and an automatic Image upload system at the links submission would be amazing.

Keep it up.

Spez: Mobile Optimization TO ME means a dedicated App or otherwise features being streamlined for mobile. Keeping in mind that submissions, commenting and scrolling should be faster and reliable.

Yes!

Maga img please!

It seems to already work. Give it a try, worked for me.

What I meant was to use Maga img for auto heating from the submission page.

I wonder if one of those 'photo zoom' extensions might work for you and get you by until they implement something on the lines of what your asking for.

Or a meme editor (Pepe template featured) :)

Only if we can use custom images...

I can only imagine /new/ being flooded with the same meme over and over.

That would be pretty awesome and they could be watermarked thedonald.win in order to let more people know about the site!

Yes the speed is impressive. Much faster than reddit. Guess thats what happens when all CPU cycles are not wasted on other useless stuff like commie subs.

1
chuckachookah 1 point ago

Or, each post isn't being put through a specific set of programing instructions used to discourage thought.

For example, it is a good bet that all content posted to the T_D was immediately routed to the cuck admins with filters set for anything and everything they might be able to use to limit speech and correct thoughts.

They are some sick puppies.

17
unable_afternoon 17 points ago

Conservatives are generally more competent. Compare this to the obamacare website.

12
PoorRich 12 points ago

It also helps if it's not a government money laundering scheme.

5
FreedomFromGovt 5 points ago

Well, that's because it wasn't designed by the Veep's talentless son, contracted out to the biggest DNC donor, and installed by H1B visaholders being threatened with deportation.

1
TH3MON5T3R 1 point ago

Did this one "cost" over $1B to implement?

Man, I don't know why THAT was never investigated. Seriously? A billion freakin' dollars for that horrible bag of crap? Someone profited off of that bigly.

2
muslimporn 2 points ago (edited)

I notice a few issues but then I've been making websites and programming forever.

Hit F12, there's things coming from external sources that might track.

Most stuff caches but the JS doesn't and I see 700Ms. I get an error occurred on some pages.

Also this:

<>
<>

<>

> <>

<>^<>

Double escaping on code.

I haven't looked closely at all though.

It can probably definitely do with polish.

It does work quite well on first release though and appears stable enough which is a positive sign.

Some JS isn't minified as well.

2
madlad2020 2 points ago

I would venture to say much of it is because it does not have to deal with all of the database bloat from other subreddits. We are running lean and ahead of schedule, just the way dr. geotus would want it.

3
mugatucrazypills 3 points ago

I'd keep some of the features down/ more text biased to keep speed up.

I would HIGHLY recommend you to move your domain name from GoDaddy to somewhere else. They are the scummiest of them all. Epik is the most free speech tolerant provider from what I know. Nobody should be supporting GoDaddy imo.

43
BattleToad8999 43 points ago (edited)

Not sure if things have changed, but a number of years ago when I did my research on registrars, I landed on Namecheap as a US based company with a great reputation. I have about 12 domains with them and never had any issues. And yes, GoDaddy is notorious for screwing over their customers AKA missed a payment by 1 day? Say bye bye to your domain GoDaddy has now seized it and is looking to sell to the highest bidder - - that kind of bullshittery. No one should ever do business with them, IMO.

13
Industry4 13 points ago

I checked them out. I might move all 3 of my domains there. Seems pretty simple.

11
2honks 11 points ago

Namecheap is great. No BS gotcha pricing.

6
techied 6 points ago

Can confirm, have 4 domains with them. Simple and also has whois protection

8
WashedMasses 8 points ago

https://nearlyfreespeech.net if you want a domain provider expressly dedicated to free speech. They got a lot of love when Godaddy first started to suck, and they still offer a simple service for a reasonable price.

2
madlad2020 2 points ago

My vote is for 1776 hosting. I lurk sites hosted by them and they fully support 1A. I can't speak for them from a hosting contract perspective, only that if you post it they will host it. (provided it does not breach federal law)

2
schiff_for_brains 2 points ago

I thought they were only dedicated to nearly free speech?

7
Harambe 7 points ago

+1 for namecheap.

2
Wagist 2 points ago

Yeah they aren’t perfect but as good as you’ll get today

27
InterloperKO 27 points ago (edited)

Seconded. Unless we dare them to censor us. That might help things even more

20
noPTSDforMePlease 20 points ago

I agree: Epik.com is the only one who actually supports free speech and a number of sites that were banned from godaddy moved over to epik

11
Diotima 11 points ago

Epik is good I would concur. I have heard Namecheap is good as well.

13
joker 13 points ago

Also cloudflare is "problematic", i think Gab had already problems with them.

11
iRubGuacOnMyArmpits 11 points ago

No, Gab is still with CloudFlare. CF is the CDN and DDOS protection service. They did ban DailyStormer and 8chan though. DailyStormer was banned because they were blatantly claiming that CloudFlare supports them or something (which is a big non no). 8chan was banned after the shootings in El Paso I believe. Though since 8chan allows un-moderated anonymous posts which thedonald.win doesn't, I think we might be okay. I hate cloudflare but they are probably one of the best CDN and DDOS prevention.

6
Diotima 6 points ago

Why does Cloudflare have a monopoly on CDN/DDOS prevention?

8
techied 8 points ago

They don't, but most ddos protection is designed for Enterprise and therefore costs hundreds per month. Cloudflare is free

4
PensivePatriot 4 points ago

Sounds like a gap in the market there: prosumer level DDOS protection for a nominal fee.

Free services as important as DDOS protection reek of data harvesting / social manipulation

2
techied 2 points ago

If it helps make sense, they are losing money at an increasing rate.

2
sirbonce 2 points ago

Good ol' bait and switch approach.

1
Defender110 1 point ago

There's no gap. Cloudflare has a basic free plan and has other plans to cover larger traffic volumes that include additional security and speed features.

DDoS prevention is not an easy thing to provide in 2019. You need an absolutely massive network like Cloudflare's to be able to absorb today's attacks. You also need sophisticated homegrown tooling to help you block the attacks at the network's borders.

I don't like Cloudflare but they're much cheaper than Akamai and the other major CDNs, which cost many tens of thousands of dollars a month for services.

4
Harcerz 4 points ago

Cloudflare plans start from "free"? Wow didn't know that, nice.

2
twinsea 2 points ago (edited)

We use CF for all of our controversial sites and they have been great. They get monthly CAIR threats for some of our client's content and CF simply forwards the email on to us.

1
sirbonce 1 point ago

"I think we might be okay" is probably not good enough.

5
craftmo 5 points ago (edited)

I think it needs further investigation if we want to be extra prepared. Good point from reddit/MilkyMauve, I can't say he is wrong. Cloudflare is in a position to decrypt and manipulate any and all data, across millions of sites. There HAS to be glowniggers or whatever involved.

edit, they did cancel stormfags, SF based co., plenty of "activists" on staff ready to call anyone a nazi I'm sure to justify whatever corrupt machinations.

If you can imagine it, someone is already doing it.

MilkyMauve 24 points · 2 hours ago · edited 1 hour ago Check the DNS and/or your network tab when you go there. They are already on Cloudflare. Did you know Cloudflare is a honeypot and DDOS attacks are a method of forcing companies into such a service? Did you know Cloudflare requires you to upload your SSL certificates (including private keys) so they can decrypt and re-encrypt your traffic in real time? Who do you think might be siphoning off this single point of massively unencrypted TLS traffic used by every major company?

4
porncop 4 points ago

That's a great way to get DDOS'd

2
iRubGuacOnMyArmpits 2 points ago

No. That will basically expose you to DDOS attack all day long. Direct IP should always stay hidden.

5
callaway86 5 points ago

IMHO, it would be good to put the site on Digital Ocean, AWS and few others and connect them all with a big IP and load balancer. Not as expensive these days and basically creates ddos protection.

2
Chick-Fil-A 2 points ago

Except AWS is still run by Bezos who personally owns the Washington Post. So...how about Microsoft Azure?

1
Please_Clap 1 point ago

I came here to say the same thing! Hey Mods Admin! Transfer the domain to a safer domain host than Godaddy. They're globalist cucks and will shut us down in a nano second.

1
madlad2020 1 point ago

Cuckflare is also to be avoided after the fullchan incident. They have no problem caving to the pressures of political correctness but can't seem to be bothered to uphold the first amendment.

1
muslimporn 1 point ago (edited)

Epik cut off 8chan (or rather epik got cut off or some nonsense). It's really hard to tell these days.

1
iRubGuacOnMyArmpits 1 point ago

Yea, Epik didn't cut off 8chan. Epik's hardware provider bailed on them when they took 8chan which basically meant no way for them to do anything.

1
rustyrockers 1 point ago

yup, anything but godaddy. I use namecheap myself, but have no idea what their stance is on free speech.

1
Data_bank 1 point ago

Was going to say this. Given the American rush to banning conservative speech, I think this site should be hosted out of country if possible

1

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/5033300/stop-link-from-sending-referrer-to-destination#7573043

Disable outbound referrers for reddit.com. This is of UTMOST importance. If not they'll accuse us of bullshit.

26
InterloperKO 26 points ago

So? They're a website, not THE internet

52
redis_help 52 points ago

Because we want to crawl up in their shitty liberal threads en masse, and if they're sniffing our referrers they'll just ban any account that has a thedonald.win referrer associated with it.

Disabling referrers will make it vastly more difficult to track us.

17
redis_help 17 points ago

I'm already personally doing it. However, most non-tech people here won't do it and it'll give us away. Fixing it on the site will make it more or less foolproof.

You can also try the Brave browser. Default strips this crap, with the ability to allow certain items for sites you want to support, or just for comparability reasons. It uses Crome’s addon store, so you lose nothing at worst, and gain more privacy at best.

Brave also finds 0 items (ads, trackers, scripts) with thedonald.win, for even more winning.

2

Nope! Only the server admins see the referrer.

1

All outbound links should be wrapped or handled in some manner to avoid phishing. Otherwise you can make a link that takes you to a domain similar to thedonald.win, that can pretty much proxy or mirror the site with a fake login, etc.

Just please prepare for the attacks. It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when

15
NetscapeNavigator 15 points ago

Upvote on this one. Batten down the hatches on everything possible. Multifactor auth on the registrar, transfer lock active, use strong alphanumerics on all possible reset authorization codes, keep the DNS separate from the registrar, full backups of all hosts in a form that can be easily restored to other providers, ensure the site code is able to function with a domain change before it's needed, etc.

Basically, take lessons from how the Pirate Bay has managed to stay online. Stay nimble, boys.

No shit, 8chan did nothing wrong. That shooter’s comments were on other social media but the media conveniently focused only on 8chan.

This place will be targeted within 90 days, just for the loss of Reddit advertising money. It won’t be a public shooting like 8chan. Look for content that breaks site rules that will be widely reported by media sites even if taken down right away.

But, until we know who/why/how what’s his name decided to shoot up Las Vegas, who knows what (else?) a desperate deep state might try.

The 3 letter agencies posted the manifestos on 8chan as an excuse to remove the website because it was extremely critical of their corruption. Its a tactic right out of rules for radicals: never let a good crisis go to waste.

  • No formatting help guide for whichever markdown variant is in use
  • imgur image submissions should be expanded to display the image in the thread

I would love a tech or PC subreddit so I can help fellow pedes make smart purchase decisions

4
julianReyes 4 points ago

Thoughts on the HP Ex920 SSDs? They never get recommended despite their incredible value.

2
Harambe 2 points ago

Looks good to me. Just below Samsung mainstream SSDs in random performance.

I judge SSDs based on their random performance usually, not many people will tap into GB/s sustained transfer speeds on the daily.

2
madlad2020 2 points ago

It also pays to look at what controller they are using as well as there have been some issues with specific ones in the past.

1
madlad2020 1 point ago

I am not sure about those ssds specifically but most used enterprise shit is an exceptional value provided you can make use of it. Its also a plus that it was run in an air conditioned enviroment most of its life if server or network gear.

_K1_ 7 points ago

Plus it gives our community places to create a culture of the other things we like and value without getting in the way of the rally-proper.

If it happens to fill a vacuum created by terrible practices on Reddit until the site bleeds out ... well that would be poetic justice considering Reddit was built on being the free speech alternative to Digg.

Besides, we all know u/spez and his admins love to watch from the closet - you'd be doing them a favor.

2
madlad2020 2 points ago

I have had notabug.io recommended to me and as I understand it they follow a decentralized model. I am not sure if they are any good or if the admins are leftists. Just passing around what I heard.

1
Maythewinbewithyou 1 point ago

Agreed. Obviously too many subs would make it cost too much to host but this experiment provides a great alternative to Reddit and it would be good to see it expand beyond memes.

Instead of discord why not a private sub that is only visible to registered users or maybe registered users who have contributed so much or have been invited. A private forum would allow a good exchange of ideas away from prying eyes

1
madlad2020 1 point ago (edited)

Discord is run by degenerate furry leftists.

I guess we use it because we don't have to pay server hosting or something but we would be a lot better off on mumble. (open source) https://github.com/mumble-voip/mumble

Spezit: here you are straight from the leftists mouth: http://archive.is/G1zWh Same old tried and true tactics, paint with a broad brush, plant" evidence" to support confirmation bias amoung your base, smear, besmerch until it gets banned.

Can we please get off of discord?

1
cyberworm 1 point ago

Rocketchat isn’t horrible, but it’s definitely not ready for prime time, and without a full time admin and developer could never handle a load like TDWin. If anything, the best alternative to discord would be IRC, quite possibly a couple of IRC servers setup and federated specifically by us and for us. Tried and true tech, that isn’t difficult to setup, administer, or scale.

I second this, just got taken to a site that didn't respect the back button.

28
2WOMP_BRICKLAYER 28 points ago

It would be great if you add the feature where clicking the thumbnail expands the image so we can see memes without opening the post and going to comments.

Thanks for the site, love it!!

4
climatestatis 4 points ago

To extend this further I'd like the 'show images' feature from RedditEnhancementSuite - click on a tab/button and it basically expands all of the images at once so you can just scroll down the page and see them all.

4
CQVFEFE 4 points ago (edited)

Yes

I'd like a Reply button next to each reply to my posts so I can quickly communicate back. Currently mine only have Permalink button, which I don't know what that does :)

Even more important: Context button next to each reply so you can easily tell what it's replying to. Especially useful when folks respond without quoting what they're replying to. Scrolling through replies that say "Yes!" or "Where did you get that second thing?" can be frustrating when you don't know the context.

Also, it would be great if like deadit, after you click save on a post , if the system would take you right to what you just wrote so you can review it. I often find an error after I post, meaning others probably do, too. No wasting time hunting for your new post.

3
Harambe 3 points ago

Theres a tiny carrot symbol that does exactly that. But yeah it's hard to use.

1
2WOMP_BRICKLAYER 1 point ago (edited)

Maybe I’m blind but I just can’t see it. I’m on iPad if that makes a difference. I tried reloading the page to request the desktop version just in case but still can’t see the carrot you mentioned. Even zoomed way in and inspected all the features on a post haha.

Would you give me a little more detail on where I should be looking? If the feature already exists I’d really like to use it, as the lack is the one and only snag I’ve experienced so far. Thanks again!

Edit: Nvm I figured it out. It’s the little grey down arrow to the left of where it says ‘submitted’. Thanks!!

3
Harambe 3 points ago

To the left of the "comments" text there is a tiny carrot that will expand the pic or video without having to leave the front page.

Think that's what you're talking about? Godspeed pede!

0
2WOMP_BRICKLAYER 0 points ago

Got it! Found what you were talking about and it’s there for most posts, but it doesn’t seem to work with YouTube vids and it doesn’t show up at all if the post is from Imgur.

But anyway thanks for pointing it out, really streamlines the process!

1
CNN_is_ISIS 1 point ago

Yes, this ^, with the "X" button to return to thumbnails/list view. Right now I have to open a thread to see the content and comment, then the return button for my browser & wait for the page to reload ... unless I'm missing something

I'd also like to add my vote to a dark theme for mobile users.

Stylish for desktop is nice currently, although having it organically on the site without add-ons would be great. Mobile users don't get that luxury.

Though I'm sure it's not a huge priority at the moment

I have one suggestion: when checking a message on the inbox page, the user can't see the thread with a single click. We have to click "permalink" on the inbox and then "full comment thread" to see previous comments on the thread, instead of the single comment.

It's a small thing, but having the option of going straight to the whole thread would make browsing/replying easier.

FreedomOfTruth 22 points ago (edited)

Couple Minor Suggestions: (SITE IS AMAZING AS-IS THOUGH!!)

  1. If not logged in, pop-up telling them to login/register if trying to upvote.
  2. Enable Hover-Zoom support. On Firefox the HoverZoom add-on allows me to scroll over an image and it maximizes, then disappears when I scroll off of the image. For some reason it doesn't work on this site, but it worked on the old version of the donald.

Bugs:

  1. Just happened, went to page 2, and I wasn't able to upvote any posts until I refreshed the page.
  2. Viewed a thread and then went back to the previous page. The view of the page would not scroll down any further, and thus could not go to the next page. Just had to refresh.
2
SuperMario 2 points ago

Bugs: when I submitted a post or a comment. I was getting a the success page. But entirely in html lol.

Urgent: long urls in post titels (which don't belong there, but anyway), are breaking the layout. Add word-break:break-word; to div.post.

Just curious, is there any concern about copyright infringement and Reddit getting this website shut down? If not, why not?

7
itreturns 7 points ago

Reddit does not own the idea of a subreddit or community. They can't do shit.

4
ElCapitanBlazzinFace 4 points ago

I would argue they do own the idea of a subreddit, seeing how it’s literally got their name in it.

I’m not a lawyer, but I can see how a blatant copy paste of their design could land this new site in hot water.

Wondering if instead of removing downvoting

You just make a algorithm to detect people who are mass downvoting and ban the shit out of them

The key difference between a pede and a cuck on Win is a pede will also be upvoting like crazy

Whereas a cuck will only downvote

2
doomannihilator 2 points ago

Agree. Anyone downvoting more than 2 post per hour should get flagged and locked out for a week and deported if previously flagged. I've not downvoted twice in a year on T_D.

1
wethepepe 1 point ago

Yep for me thats what makes this solution so hilarious

On .win there's only pro-trump stuff. So the only way they could blend in and avoid being kicked out by the algo is by upvoting pro-trump content hahah

2
happyfave 2 points ago

Yea.. some downvotes are fine.. but maybe they should make users have to earn their downvotes.

3
AmericaTheGreat 3 points ago

That's a GREAT idea! Maybe every 10 upvotes you get 1 downvote? Or 25 upvotes, or even 100. I dunno but that's a clever idea mr. happyfave

1
wethepepe 1 point ago (edited)

Yeah people are suggesting taking a similar approach to what Stackoverflow does

Basically:

  • It costs you to downvote (e.g. 10 points are deducted for each downvote you give)

  • You can't downvote until you have 100 karma

Further than that, stackoverflow also has restrictions on what you can do based on your points e.g. maybe you can only make a submission after X points

I don't think that'd be good here but it could be an option to throttle things if crazy lefties try to flood the place

spez: I also think your downvotes should be visible in your profile. That would really make it dead easy to spot

1
DoesItWorkAlready 1 point ago

^ This.

100% agree. Shills are obvious by simple algorithm if you keep downvoting in place.

Make downvoting subtract 10 points. If you have less than 10 points you can't downvote.

This is is how StackOverflow keeps shills in check.

1
wethepepe 1 point ago

I'd be happy to see the stackoverflow model too

Would really make it hard to game the system

Suggestion:

Allow us to bring over our Reddit IDs so someone cannot pretend to be our old IDs here. Also would help us bootstrap a reputation here, help with bot detection, and so on.

I have sample code that doesn't use Reddit's APIs and is security equivalent to an SMS message (except you have the user post the message on any public post in Reddit).

I sent an email if you want to PM me about

1

HillaryIsACunt 10 points ago

Great job with this site, pedes!

I have a suggestion. in the intro, you mentioned how the people on reddit (outside of our Domreddit) are not people you want to interact with in real life. that's true, they're 95% socially retarded cucks.

but this site for winners is 100% MAGA, so it would be cool to have subs for different topics, covering random things outside of GEOTUS and winning. for example, I would love to have a non-cucked car forum where I can mention my disdain for the EPAs BS diesel regulations without being banned. or a sub for my state that isnt just leftist propaganda.

any plans for generic subs here ?

2
UpTrump 2 points ago

This is a great idea and I would love to see it implemented when this site grows large

Spez: I'm blown away by the website as it is and I already see myself using it more than Reddit. Keep it up.

skygz 5 points ago

I think an app for iOS and Android should definitely be top of the priority list. Even if it's just a container for the web page. Just need something official.

  • Needs a Dark Mode.
  • Lose the downvote button for posts.
  • Needs more stats in the sidebar.
  • Needs a separate HottiesforTrump sub.

Wow, even a wishlist on Trello. What about showing if users are American or not? For instance it sucks discussing free speech then finding out it doesn't matter for them. It would have to be opt in since VPNs.

Also, I want to be part of your next mirror site. Perhaps you could develop your own OpenID to facilitate moving around that way.

Rofl, so true. It’s not even remotely worth it.

Coming in ahead of schedule and under budget. Nice! Few suggestions –

Mobile app (I realize this will take awhile, but it’ll be nice to get notifications, save time, etc.)

More tags for posts (similar assortment to what’s on Reddit)

Ability to expand a thumbnail without redirecting to the post

Direct image uploads (tremendous if we can work with the magaimg folks on making this happen)

Yuuuuuuge undertaking, but it would be great if we could get some of the “banned” figures (e.g. Milo, Alex Jones) to do AMAs.

Can we make upvote/downvote buttons something like these?

https://jacobsmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/trump-thumbs-down.png

Again, I love the site and am impressed by how quickly it’s taking off, but sharing my wishlist anyway!

Not sure if you have any kind of backup system, but I suggest having a daily backup of your database in case cloudflare decide to be assholes.

This is something I realized after the quarantine. Best I understand it, Reddit is "open source" and allow API's and other sites to interact with the code. One of the most useful ones, was Uneddit -- you'd just replace reddit with uneddit to "undo" any edits or deletions that Spez or any other mods might have done.

That was useful during the whole Pedogate / Seth Rich period, but it was taken off line. One of the replacements is ceddit. I assume to "see edits." Again, just replace reddit with ceddit and it takes you to a site that shows what comments get deleted, what posts are deleted, and whether it was off for rules violation or for being "not safe for brand." <-- sort of their catchall that can be if something is too edgy for investors.

My recommendation on reddit sites with CSS is to pull up the ceddit page and archive that. It takes a much better picture of all comments without formatting.

One of the sneaky things the quarantine does is it prevents ceddit from opening up knowledge about mod or user shenanigans. When the dipshits called for police violence and then within minutes had lynch mob and Media Matters for America putting a story out on it, it would have been possible to look at user accounts, post history, and participation to really have evidence that it was an agent provocateur.

AntiProgressive 4 points ago

I do not want this to be taken the wrong way - I think the_donald was/is a great idea, and has been unfairly abused, and has strong patriotism and loyal servants to the truth BUT....

I think that in starting this out of the unfair control and abuse of the Leftist driven Reddit, can we start to not have kneejerk moderation?

I get rules and I get that rules exist for a reason and have been thought long and hard over and often are of great merit but they sometimes miss the mark or do not take into account unusual exceptions to a general rule.

Example - Ilhan Omar was being.....Ilhan Omar and as such due to campaign finance or screwing or brother or making antisemitic statements a petition was started in Change dot org. I posted a link to that petition and had thread killed on the basis of promoting an an anti-Trump site.

Clear that was not what I was doing and so I questioned this and was told to follow the rules and so on.

It was stupid. Clearly regardless of the merits or not of Change dot org that seemed a pretty good petition. It was not promoting a bad site it was promoting a good cause. Kneejerk moderation from a moderator being a jerk. Perhaps under too much pressure or feeling a little too raw to be reasonable.

I think we could be a little looser here and as much fun without the threats or the tamping down from spez. I think this could be beautiful. I just think better moderation could make it better. I do not condone everyone running roughshod over rules but just for the rules and the enforcement being rational, sensible and fair.

MAGA.

I know that this is a full copy of Reddit’s old public source code, which has the capability to have more than one discussion forum. It would be really nice if we could have some sub-forums for specific purposes. I don’t know what the team’s vision for this place is but I really think sub-forums for specific purposes would be useful. Sub-forums like: strictly Republican/conservative/Trump news would be great so news articles don’t have to compete with memes and they can be sourced and collated into arguments for the broader web. I also think it’d be great to have a strictly election-politics sub-forum so we can better coordinate and spread President Trump’s message. Others have suggested a Second Amendment sub-forum and evening a HottiesforTrump sub-forum. I think it’d be best if new sub-forum creation stayed in the hands of the admin team so this place doesn’t become too fractured but I think news and election politics sub-forums would be very popular and help us be more effective in the upcoming election.

2
Brendan123746 2 points ago

I second this 100%. The most important ones we need is an out reach sub. This way we can coordinate brigading so we can spread our message and help convince people on other sites. Our #1 priority should be new voters and getting people to the polls. And memes and shitposting is obviously key for that

4
OneBigMaga 4 points ago

Definitely need links to open in a new tab or window. I keep closing the site out because I'm used to everything linked opening in a new window.

It would also be nice if we could have the large thumbnails like we had on reddit for Images and videos that are linked. I don't know if that is possible with the software being used, but it would be nice.

Other than that, I'm loving this site.

1
trumancarol 1 point ago

I'd also like to see links to articles when clicked opening a new window.

Absolutely love this site! MAGA!

4

A save button and dark mode would make my stamen tingle.

4
menardo3 4 points ago

Can we get a bot that automatically posts/links Trump's tweets onto the site? Or is that not possible (I don't know much about bots and building websites)

4
td_didnt_kill_itself 4 points ago

Can mods reach out to old mods that Reddit forced out? I believe over the years there were a number of moderators that were popular in the community and forced out for some sort of Reddit BS. I won't name names but the mods know who I mean and could now invite these people back.

2

4
VeryDustyWeeb 4 points ago

Very good so far, I would be careful of butthurt lefties following us from reddit, maybe some sort of vetting process but then again idk how we plan to manage raids from them if anyone can enlighten me.

4
Crimson_Identity 4 points ago

Hopefully the devs have implemented some sort of an IP ban on the users who get banned. That alone will take care of most the normies who don't use a VPN or TOR.

4
Chad_Prime 4 points ago

Any way to build in "sub-wins"?

It'd be cool to have a separate space for hotties, memes, etc. (just like how the discord is set up).

1

4

4
Dopey_Sugar 4 points ago

Let everyone upvote. But only allow a user to downvote if they have a certain level of karma. That will prevent brigading.

4
Shwoogin 4 points ago

Seems like the formula for the flow of posts through "rising" and "top" needs a tweak. I think it's fair to say most of us are junkies, so the movement of popular, timely posts ought to flow upward more quickly.

4
rickscarf 4 points ago

Maybe I'm not doing something right, but I have to keep logging in every few days when I've been coming here, can someone either point me in the right direction or can I suggest a "Remember Me / Keep Me Logged In" option?

Show the upvotes AND downvotes from a post. Reddit did away with this to suppress independent thought and encourage group think. We don't need that here.

3

I’m just beyond happy and relieved to have this place. May God bless you all.

3
BoricuaPede 3 points ago

How about custom flairs for our usenames? I for example would love to have a spicy phrase next to BoricuaPede. Or a PR51 flag or something (even though I am an independentista for PR and an America Firster for the US of A, lol).

3
EpsteinMurdered 3 points ago

More sort options to sort through your personal comments and submissions.

Easier transition for dark mode for mobile users or even a app if feasible.

A donation option cause mods are gods and should not have to take on the burden alone!

3

A “Dark Mode” theme option would be great. Thx.

  • For some reason I keep getting logged out
  • What does the "Spez" button do on my own posts?
0

Clicking spez edits your post lol.

3
Slick_Willy 3 points ago

The front page here is not as dynamic as needed. 2-3 days with the same posts on at the top is not a good idea.

Decay rates need to be tweaked so new content makes the top.

Also go with 4 stickies and rotate the shit out of the 2nd 3rd and 4th and the 1st spot is for site communications or extra important stuff. 3-4 hours tops to keep something stickied so we all have a reason to come back often throughout the day.

3
slickbilly777 3 points ago

Ability to reply directly to comments that show up in inbox would be great, as well as a more streamlined mobile experience.

Fucking savage work thus far dev team, you guys are the heroes Trump has needed online since he came down the golden elevator.

3
DJT4PRZ 3 points ago (edited)

Please implement upvote/downvote history on the user pages! Oldreddit still has this. (Currently we only have submission and comment history views.)

These could be visible only to the user, or only to registered users, or it could be public. I personally prefer it be publicly-accessible. Then the upvote history becomes like a miniblog. But any of these three options would still be useful.

3
Hibakusha 3 points ago

I would really like the board-wide "top" to have selectable time windows (Past Hour, Past 24 Hours, past week, month, year, all-time). I guess it's all-time now?

white on dark gray (night mode) is much better.

I'm kind of old-fashioned, though. I'd prefer black on white.

3
Unsilent_Socalipede 3 points ago (edited)

Thank you for doing this! I do think that the site may be experiencing some small scale strokes and crashes as we get more and more pedes migrating. I've gotten a few "error" pages as I go back from a post, but it goes away after refreshing. Just something to note that we're gonna need a bigger boat maybe. Edit: I am using Safari on my phone, so that might be a reason.

  1. The message icon seems like the opposite of a notification because it darkens when there's messages and white when none.

  2. Reply function in messages area would help conversation.

  3. Hide thread. It's how I know what I've already read so every time I load up its 100% new.

  4. I know there was conversation of a mobile app and an endorsed APK package would be glorious.

You need to get the domain name away from Godaddy.

Their TOS allows them to take any domain at any time for any or no reason. It's a matter of time until they steal yours. They've done it to me and thousands of other for far less.

2
2honks 2 points ago

Instead of removing the downvote button, why not have it register each downvote as a value against the username. If that particular user has an outlandish number of downvote to upvote ratio, then it helps weed out the shills. You can write a script that disables their downvote abilities until their ratio to upvotes is more appropriate so it doesn't catch a negative nancy-pede by accident.

For your consideration. I think #tags might work better than domains. OP able to add a tag to their post (even after edit). The ability to tag and then search/filter for posts with #tag -- #politics or #news or #memes or #hotties or #pepe. You See ? Endless possibilities without creating silos.

I'd like sub-Donalds so we can completely eliminate reddit. Make a Donaldbook and a Trumpweet while you are at it.

2
mikeroolz 2 points ago (edited)

In the inbox, I'd love to see the following like Reddit has:

  1. Up/down vote buttons
  2. Reply

It would also be awesome if we had an option to not get inbox notifications on replies to your posts, with setting changeable per post.

These are likely the kinds of things I could help improve on if the devs want to let me help with the code. I've been coding for 25+ years. I'm not good at overall web design/layout stuff, but little changes and improvement I can do. And I have a decent knowledge of SQL and very good knowledge of network stuff.

I have no plans for the weekend, this would give me something to do lol.

2

To implement:

Stats such as: -Total users

-Active last 30 minutes

-Active yesterday

Bug :

-Pressing the back button sometimes return an error, have to reload the page (on android at least). This problem seems to be more than just the back button, sometimes just on page load it shows this error.

QOL :

-Add a context to the replies in your inbox, just like reddit does. Make it that when you click context it opens the thread with the comment in view.

Create a Wall of Honor. This area would have a selection of account names that have been taken out of circulation as a way to pay respect for their contribution. Similar to how professional teams retire certain jersey numbers. Accounts for Andrew Breitbart, Seth Rich, Ronald Reagan.....

2

I think it would really help if new posts could be displayed just by scrolling down rather than having to click the Next button. When sorted by New, posts can slide onto the next pages so quickly due to how many are made in such a short amount of time, it would be nice to be able to just scroll so you're less likely to miss any.

I feel like we should take some queues from other sites, to make the best experience. Reddits comment system is my favourite. However things like sections on 9gag is also the best way I have seen for organising the content. So my suggestion would be to have sections reflecting our flairs.

Trump tweet

Liberal tears

Shit post

Don't let your memes be dreams (originals)

Etc. And instead of the 3 bars on top left, just have an easy bar under the top bar with hot, new and top. As a last thing. Please make an option to donate. I want to pay for the things I'm using and now when I'm not being forced to pay with data, I want to do it with money.

1

2
td_didnt_kill_itself 2 points ago

Can we get a "Percent Upvoted" counter for cuck salt-level estimation? I know the devs are probably inundated with requests for features but it would be nice to see how many cucks were made to crawl on their bellies to sneak under the wall.

2
TexasJack 2 points ago

Consider having links open in a new tab/window rather than the same window as TDW. (This would be a change from the behavior on reddit.)

Many sites implement the "new tab/window" method and I often end up closing the page instead of going back and then need to relaunch a new tab for The Donald.

2

Not really a site suggestion, but my opinion for the community. Leave reddit, join this site. Make this site more powerful than our reddit domain. I understand the fight and not wanting to give up, but to me it’s a much more powerful message than for us to be “allowed” to stay on reddit under their rules, than to make our own site. We don’t need their fucking permission to post content and have based discussions. So leave and make a better kingdom. Just my take.

My personal plan is to do both until the next admin review of The_Donald— at which point they’ll either ban it, or it will be cuckingly obvious that they have no plans to ever remove the quarantine.

datawarrior 2 points ago

Considering the quality of this place, would be nice to have some sub reddit style forums for other things. Not keen on user created ones like reddit but maybe some that are relevent like a tech sub reddit. Dying to remove myself from reddit entirely but there are still a couple subs there i like.

I have a few questions

  1. What about the hosting service? After what they try to do to gab that is also a concern.

  2. What about the end funding? Paypal, banks etc are not trustable

  3. Is there legal consultation regarding the site because it looks like reddit and spez may claim copyright in a court in Hawaii

2
iRubGuacOnMyArmpits 2 points ago

Regarding the "looks like reddit", custom CSS is the moderator's property on Reddit so I don't think Reddit has a case. Also just like Snapchat can't sue Facebook for copying their "Stories" idea, I doubt reddit has a case either.

4republic 2 points ago

A couple things off the top of my head

  1. as with RES, add a link at the top to expand all IMAGES
  2. as with RES, allow me to collapse / expand all child content
  3. consider adding some other right leaning subs (2a, "therightlist")and bring in more users and diversity (not too much! haha...). We might consider letting famous conservative persons each have a sub that they can post to and maybe monetize? Garrison... Scott Adams... we want this to be self-sustaining $ rev wise at some point right?

In general, RES add-on has a lot of great features and I would love to see some of them migrate here.

2
FrenchPatriot 2 points ago

Why not take advantage of the fact that we have a whole site to ourself now to broaden our horizons a little? Why not have the current front page as it is, the main page of the website, and then other tabs (I'd be strongly in support of a 'news' tab for example, one could also be in favour of a 'questions' tab).

Just my two cents; I'd love discussing more serious content like news with the community without having to flood the main page with articles or questions.

Suggestion: Go back to the original style of "point count" where it showed the downvote and upvote counts separately (e.g., if a post has "1 point" but it's actually 5 upvotes and 4 downvotes, show (5|4) instead). It also makes it drastically harder for shills to manipulate, and shills will be showing up eventually with their bots etc.

This cuts down on hive mind mentality a LOT.

Also get rid of "auto-hide posts below a certain threshold" (if it exists), that shit is garbage.

Both the combined point count and auto-hiding comments are used by Reddit to create a hive mind group think sort of scenario for brainwashing purposes, and aren't needed here at all.

Also, do the same with CloudFlare. They'll shut us down like they did with 8Chan.

2

I'd really recommend a upvote and downvote count. Similar to voat

2
BrutalTruth101 2 points ago (edited)

Love your work! But two things I found mildly annoying... When you use large text (PC W10) you lose the rt menu and have to click on the (I)icon to post... See attached ...

And could you increase the amount of time (or give us an option) before we are automatically logged out... It seems to log me out when I go to settings back to main screen.

Being able to paste images into posts (and MAGAimg:net too)would be nice too... Still I love you guys...

Clicking on the arrow in the top right logs you off and takes you to the front page... This was confusing but maybe that's on me..

This site is vital to survival as other sites become more and more hostile to Keks! http://magaimg.net/img/9q7d.jpg

4

don't use imgur. Use magaimg.net

2
MAGAParty247 2 points ago

Hopefully this will be better for searching than Reddit. Reddit's search feature is terrible. It's way easier to redpill people if you can actually find that thing you read about or watched. And all the shitty ass tech companies censor the search results so it's impossible.

2
OhLollyLollyPop 2 points ago

On the other website, I clicked on puctures/memes, except twitter pics, and they expanded for me right there. This goes to another page, and when I go back the ouc isn't expanded. That was a help to see where I had been previously. I hope you will consider it.

You could do a bot that scapes "hot" topics from reddit and reposts here with votes set.

You'd still miss out on the top comments, but I'm sick of going to reddit.

Maybe it's unworkable.

1

It was suggested already 15 times, but 1 more time cannot hurt: context on replies. When receiving a reply notification in my inbox, only "permalink" is available under the reply. It takes me to the original thread, but do not provide context (my comment) as well.

Also maybe changing the color of the inbox icon when there are unread items. Dark Red on red background is not very pleasing to the eye. To keep the color scheme of White, Red and Blue I suggest Blue.

Great work on the site. I LOVE that we're finally free from Reddit and those Anti-American assholes.

I try to share the front page links from here on twitter every day. hopefully this helps drive some activity in some small way...

Please let us know when you have a patreon or some other way that we can help out financially.. I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to help carry some of the weight here... and support the cause!

Again, Great job....Looking forward to seeing the site grow.

Can you add a place with links to other conservative/free-speech websites and forums? There’s so many of them to keep track of and in the event that big tech cracks down on us we’ll be scattered all over the internet.

1
Stoic_Muse 1 point ago

The reddit reader I used made it so you could just swipe right and left on a post to upvote and downvote. This would be welcomed imo, just to expedite upvote speeds for my fellow Pedes. Once again, amazing job on the site !

1
randomnancy 1 point ago

Hi - thank you for your hard work so far.

I'd like the ability to expand images without having to click through and open the post first.

1
WeAreGonnaMAGA 1 point ago

Suggestion - add ability to filter the front page by post tags

Page mockup of the idea: http://magaimg.net/img/9q70.jpg

As we add more tags (we need to get creative, like with the flair from T_D, imo) add them to the filters as well.

So I can see just the 2A posts, or the Lying MSM posts, or Melania posts, Sunday Gunday posts, etc.

1
asklepios 1 point ago

1.) Inline picture loading ala reddit enhancement suite.

2.) Never ending scrolling on the front page.

1
FromTheThirdEstate 1 point ago

I'd like to be able to sort comments in a thread by old, in addition to top and new. I like reading stuff in the order in which it came, instead of reading backwards in time, or scrolling to the bottom first.

1
MeSewCorny 1 point ago

You may want to think about an adsense type of PPC click campaign. The community will understand the need to find ways to monetize the site to make it able to support itself and other needs should they arise. Mods having to fund it out of pocket is not a longterm viable solution. Otherwise you end up like that guy on the movie "Falling Down" holding a sign and yelling at pedestrians walking by how you're "Not economically viable!" Do you really want to be that guy?

  1. Mobile App is probably the biggest one. Safari mobile browser sucks. Most are going to be using this site from mobile.

  2. Sub boards. Would love to be able to create our own subs here to discuss anything and everything we want that relates to the overall nature of this site: freedom, liberty, and the proliferation of classical culture and strong bonded societies, family units, strong communities and economic systems that have proven to work for at least 10,000 years.

  3. Something that links former Reddit karma specifically related to T_D here. Sucks starting from 0. Not that it matters, but I’m sure systems are in place here that assign weight to stuff. I also wish old threads were imported for reference and backup. When the Reddit sub gets banned, we need our own cultural and meme history fully preserved. Not that hard to write a script that scrapes all the old posts and copies them here and also awards karma or up vote points or whatever to people with the same user name. I know it gets complicated but where there’s a will there’s a way. Or at least let people apply for those transfers if old material is copied here if they were strong contributors on the old Reddit sub.

  4. On that note, something that links the account here to Reddit so you can automatically cross post during the transition. Sucks to have different content and have to read two sites. If everything posted on Reddit gets replicated here it will improve the transition speed. Hopefully the base will post “censored” content here directly as the mirror need only go one way.

I read through so many good suggestions so i know some of these are repeats, and with that my first recommendation:

-utilizing the sidebar with links to specific threads for stuff like this and maybe compiling the suggestions at the top of the thread so people know what is already suggested/possibly being worked on.

-I'd like to be able to upload and host photos/gifs/videos through the site like reddit started doing, i know that may increase storage cost but you dont have a shortage of people willing to donate time and space.

-User flair and post flair which i assume is already in the works.

-A gold/silver/platinum equivalent, i remember back in the day we used to be able to to tip crypto for comments which would be neat. If your heart is set on no donations, maybe people can earn the gold they can use to give by getting X amount of upvotes on their own posts. Maybe for every 100 upvotes you are awarded with 1 gold to apply to someone elses comment.

-Utilize the side bar for additional external links like the discord, trumps site, register to vote sites, contacting your rep sites, and maybe other smaller Trump communities like on Steam or other platforms. Even a link to a thread for something that has too much info to stuff into the side bar, like for example a link to contact all our reps.

MyPillow ads.

1
Zedakah 1 point ago

My suggestion would be to add more tags for posts, and then a feature where we could sort by tags. This would be a way to have subforums without creating subforums. So if I just wanted to see the news headlines from the day, I could hit the news tag and it would bring up only posts that were created with that news tag. Also, it would be good for things like discussions, memes, and any other tags you might add in the future.

1
Brendan123746 1 point ago

Why not just sub forums tho, we could still have an all that aggregates them
